November 16, 2009

Earlier today I ran into someone I've gotten to know as she also has a child in Eliana's co-op class.  She has been very sweet and encouraging to me from the beginning, since I shared a little about my germaphobia, and fears about letting Eliana go (finally!).

She had a daughter that was very sick with a rare disease and eventually passed away because of it.  In spite of this terrible loss, she is a beacon.  She and her husband learned a lot about health/diet/living environment issues during their daughter's time here with them, and desire to share the information with others, if others want to learn.  She has offered to give me info, and so far the time hasn't been right, but I'm hoping to pick her brain soon.

I stopped her in the hallway in order to say that we would not be able to take advantage of a meeting that she was going to have, and we talked briefly about it.  She again shared how much she wanted to tell people all the things that they learned, which they did not know before; one of the things she mentioned had to do with the products we have in our homes in order to clean them.

I laughed and said,"Yes, well, I don't really clean our house!  So we're all right there."

She laughed too, and said,"What?  You, the germaphobe?!"

I told her,"They're our germs, so they don't bother me as much."

She laughed again and said,"You are a germ snob!"

I busted out laughing and said,"I guess I am."  I thought that was pretty funny.
