I can't believe that nine years ago, right now, I was in the hospital as we prepared for your arrival. I was in a hot tub, trying to relax. That's hard to do when your body is getting ready to have a baby!
You finally made your appearance around 7:20 in the morning. You were ready for anything right from the beginning. You looked around that first day with eyes that seemed to know more than they possibly could.
Did you know how much we would love you?
Do you know it now?
I hope so, dear girl. You were our first baby girl, and you will always be.
I pray that this year brings great things for you...that you will grow in your understanding both academically and spiritually. I pray that you will continue to be joyful. I pray that you will keep your ability to see how much your brother and sister look up to you, and love you. I pray that you will know God better, and his Son Jesus, as you learn about them.
We can give you a birthday present to celebrate your special day...but the real gift is ours. It's you.
