A Butterfly
Today I spoke before I thought about what I was saying.
The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18
The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:4
The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
The wise in heart are called discerning,
and gracious words promote instruction. Proverbs 16:21
The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint,
and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 17:27
There is someone who trusts, and when the words that come out of my mouth wound instead of instruct, when the words injure instead of discipline, there is only one way back to right. I ask for forgiveness (it was given to me). Hopefully that's where healing starts, and thankfully she is resilient.
Discipline your children, and they will give you peace;
they will bring you the delights you desire. Proverbs 29:17
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26
When the butterfly emerges from the chrysalis, its wings are small and completely incapable of flight.
It must sit still for a long time while the wings are filled with the fluid which makes them expand.
Once the wings are filled out, still the butterfly must wait; the wings must dry and harden.
Then it is time to test their strength. To give them a shake, a flutter, a flap.
Soon, it is time to fly.
The wings still need to get strong, and there may be breezes that blow the butterfly back down. But the wings were made to fly. The butterfly will soar.
I'm still in the pumping-fluid-into-the-wings stage. I have a feeling that I'll be there for a long while. Thank the Lord for his lovingkindness, and for his grace. Seen and felt from him, as well as those I have hurt.

Words I needed to hear. Thank you.
Thank you, Mindee. And you're welcome. :)
Gorgeous post. The words are just... beautiful. Grace is a a kindness I do not understand - but that I am oh-so-thankful for in my own "reckless" moments. So glad His grace found you in your moment of need.
So beautiful. I love this.
